Take Part Festival brings a fortnight of free sports & wellbeing events to Brighton for all ages & abilities


In the zone!

Take Part Festival runs for two weeks this month, offering hundreds of opportunities to get active in the city. Come along and take part in this amazing festival taking place all over Brighton & Hove. There are events to cater for all ages and abilities.
The festival launches on Saturday 22 June with the ‘Family Day’ at Preston Park. Events run from 12pm to 5pm. Come and try out sports and activities for free and visit all these fantastic zones:
• Football Zone – featuring the FA Women Super league Road show!
• Golf Zone
• Tennis Zone
• Bowls Zone
• Skate Zone
• Athletics Zone
• H2O Zone
• Adventure Zone
• Walking Zone
• Play Zone
• Health & Wellbeing Zone
• Freedom Leisure Zone
• Croquet Zone
• Martial Arts & Boxing Zone
• Basketball Zone
• Hockey Zone
• Ping Zone
• Bike Zone
• Amazing Zone – a dedicated zone for disabled adults and children
• Community & Dance Stage

Festival highlights from across the fortnight include:
• Over 400 community taster activities (22 June–7 July)
• Active Forver – Older people’s sports event, King Alfred, 27 June, 10am–12.30pm: Different ways to keep active as you get older
• Take Part In The City – New Road, 28 June, 5pm to 8pm: Join Take Part in Jubilee Square and New Road to celebrate sport and physical activity
• Big Gay Sports Day – BLAGSS (Brighton Lesbian & Gay Sports Society), Stanley Deeson, 29 June, 10am–5pm: Healthy activities for all abilities
• Paddle Round The Pier, 6–7 July: The country’s largest free charity beach festival
• Brighton Bikestock – 6 July, 11am–4pm: A fantastic sponsored community cycling event in Stanmer park
• Take Part Local – 29–30 June: Five events in local communities across the city, come along and get active.
• Take Part In Schools – 24 June–5 July: See Take Part’s work with the city’s schools
