New homes: Olympic Heights strikes gold
Olympic Heights in Withdean is given a new lease of life with Mishon Mackay Land & New Homes
In the dizzy heyday of 2007, Olympic Heights on Withdean Road, Brighton, was seen as a ground-breaking development – four sumptuous homes of which the city had never seen before. Unfortunately this dream was short lived as the bank took back the site in 2010 and it stood dormant for many years, much like the Mary Celeste; tools downed and a house part finished.
The site was finally sold in July following some complex negotiations. “In 20 years of selling land and development sites this was probably the most challenging I have dealt with and we were delighted to exceed the bank’s expectations on value,” comments Matthew Hollywood of Mishon Mackay Land & New Homes.
Olympic Heights had been a thorn in the side of the locals for many years; a part finished house, boarded-up site and constant security issues were not conducive to a quiet residential community. With Withdean Road considered being in the top three roads in the city the future of this prime site is now looking much better and promises to become one of city’s landmark developments.
