Campaigners protest about fares at Brighton Station

Campaigners staged a protest about train fares at Brighton Station.

They said: “Train fares are too high and the government was wrong to have voted for them.”

The protesters were trying to alert passengers to the fact that average train fares have increased almost three times higher than wages.

The protest was organised by TSSA (Transport Salaried Staffs’ Association) and the public transport campaign Together for Transport.

Brighton resident and commuter Alun Jones said: “We had a really good response from passengers this morning, who like us are sick and tired of being asked to fork out more and more just so we can get to work and back”
