Film: The Heat (15)

With ‘Bridesmaids’ director Paul Feig at the helm and ‘Parks And Recreation’ writer Katie Dippold penning this buddy cop comedy, expectant audiences will be looking to laugh a riotous laugh. ‘The Heat’ stars Sandra Bullock as an uptight FBI agent who is, would you guess it, paired up with freewheeling rebel cop Melissa McCarthy. These two naturally funny women create a very witty and watchable team throughout the movie, although Bullock remains slightly too subdued for my liking. Action-filled and typical of its genre however not at all wearingly predictable. Similar to ‘Bridesmaids’; despite a strong female comedic presence, women and men alike will warm to ‘The Heat’.
