Within the first few bars of the ‘Backfield In Motion’ style opener the Midlands soul boys had the crowd eating out of the palms of their hands. The three piece brass section gave each number a punchy Dexys/Style Council quality, backed by funky organ while vocalist Neil Jones’s tongue trills recalled Kevin Rowland. ‘No More The Fool’ was classic blue-eyed soul and they channelled the spirit of Terry Callier on the sublime ‘Don’t Let The Rain’. The perilous floor was full of dancers as they ended a dynamic set on a high with a storming Northern Soul classic.
