Burglar ransacks slot machines in Brighton pub

A burglar stole cash after breaking into a pub in a busy Brighton street.

He forced open a window at the Branch Tavern in London Road between 3am and 3.20am on Wednesday 25 September and the broke into two slot machines inside the pub.

Significant damage was caused to the slot machines and money was stolen from inside them as well as from behind the bar.

PC Dave Rea said: “There were a lot of people in London Road at the time of the burglary, many of whom would have passed the pub as it was being broken into.

“I am keen to speak to anyone who saw a man acting suspiciously outside the pub, particularly two groups of people who passed him as he sat outside at about 3.10am.

“Please contact me if you saw anything you thought was odd, no matter how unimportant you might consider it to be. It could be vital to the inquiry.”
