Brighton Acoustic Session switches to new venue

The Brighton Acoustic Session is moving to a new venue from Monday (7 October).

The long-running club is switching to the Prince Albert pub in Trafalgar Street, Brighton, after seven years at the nearby Lord Nelson.

The Brighton Acoustic Session has built a reputation for showcasing a huge variety of roots music.

Its policy of booking acts which share the stage with drop-in performers in an open-floor format is the only one of its kind in Brighton.

On Monday the guitar picker and songwriter Alan “Woody” Woodham will launch his new album. Also on the bill is the impressive bluegrass duo Solid Gone.

Upcoming acts include the world-renowned Copper Family of Rottingdean, whose repertoire of traditional English songs has been handed down through seven generations, and Porchlight Smoker, rising stars of the acoustic scene.

The club meets on the first Monday of the month. Admission is free, with a collection. More details at www.brightonacoustic.com.
