That Pair – Never Liked Her Anyway

Acclaimed musical comedy duo That Pair aka Kathryn Bond and Lorna Shaw, hit the ground running with a fast-paced series of ‘memorial sketches’ as they honoured the memory of their late fictional agent. A beautiful and original conceit, set up neatly with a blow up image of the lipstick laden absent focus, completed by a glass jar of apparent ashes prominently displayed, Bond and Shaw took up the guises of other former clients, long-time loves and even a yoga guide amongst an engaging tasting board of characters with rib-tickling consequences. At their strongest when sparring together, That Pair prove that the ‘pretty one’ can be funny and the ‘funny one’ can be pretty, and how much fun sketch comedy really can be when focussed. A truly well-spent comedy hour.
