Alex Horne – Lies
Abandoning his PowerPoint presentations and musical tomfoolery, Alex Horne’s latest stand-up show is refreshing, interesting and enlightening in equal measure. Exploring his difficulties with the lies he constantly needs to peddle in his chosen profession, Horne successfully shines a light on the authenticity of comedy whilst succesfully remaining funny and entertaining. While his famous computer trickery is absent from this show, Horne still utilises his multimedia skills to good effect, introducing a series of famous voices through some clever editing of celebrity audiobooks and even engaging in a dynamic double-act with himself. It’s great to see a comedian putting this amount of effort in, and the result is a slick, engaging and thoroughly enjoyable show.
