Vintage Hitchcock
I take my hat off to ‘Conn Artists’ for delivering an imaginative and highly entertaining evening of theatre. Although presented as 3 radio plays, the beauty of the format meant you focused on the words, the delivery and the fantastic sound effects created by the troupe of seven. ‘The Lodger’, ‘Sabotage’ and ‘The 39 Steps’ were brought to life but kept that essential Hitchcockian element of suspense and thrill. And a radio play wouldn’t be a radio play without the obligatory ‘word from our sponsors’, with tongue firmly in cheek and more than a little nod to some of old Hitchy’s cinematic masterpieces. Great stuff.
