Paul Foot – Words
It’s a shame when the support act outshines the main event but Paul Foot billed himself as his own support with a barnstorming opening set that outshone the second half even though that half was his recent Edinburgh hour ‘Words’. The second half wasn’t bad but it fizzled where the opener soared and was too reliant on his ‘disturbances’ – weird paintings with unconnected thoughts on the back. If Foot can channel the free-wheeling but deceptively well constructed mania and almost over-the-line audience work of the first half into a full show then he will be a comedic force of nature.
