Over three hundred people made up of celebrities, journalists and dignitaries enjoyed the official launch party of Brighton’s Royal Pavilion Ice Rink on Thursday 7 November.

At the opening ceremony, hosted by Heart FM’s Jack the Lad and Brighton & Hove Mayor Denise Cobb, guests enjoyed a dazzling ice dance by Natalie Cunningham from Robin Cousins’ ICE, showing at the Brighton Centre in January.

With the former Royal pleasure palace as backdrop, the 800 square metre rink has space for 250 skaters per session, with a beginners’ area with penguin skate aids and skate sizes from ‘just walking’ to adult, offering seasonal fun and a unique and special festive experience.

Focus support the Martlets Hospice

To raise money for Hove based charity The Martlets Hospice, on Friday 8 November 12 brave souls from local communications specialist Focus Group spent the night in the notoriously haunted ‘Old Police Cells’ housed in the eerie basement of Brighton Town Hall, where Police Chief Henry Solomon was murdered by an inmate in 1844.

Keane Beaken – Director of Focus Mobile division says: “Scaring the Focus Mobiles team out of their wits seemed like a unique way to raise money for a great cause! Being involved with such an exceptional piece of Brighton’s history is also something we are really looking forward to.”

The Martlets Hospice cares for over one thousand people living in and around Brighton & Hove, every year, it plays a vital role in helping people to live like as fully as they can right up until the end.
