CineCity: Brighton Screenings: Short Documentaries
This afternoon’s installment gave an insightful glimpse into different aspects of Brighton from local film makers. Five films, five very different experiences.
Highlights included ‘5 Is Alive’, which followed a family’s struggle of how they came to terms with the loss of their son and came out the other side; ‘Gunpowder’, which followed the Lewes bonfire night in a dramatic and hard hitting way; and it was ‘Redundant’ which depicted the rather brutal reality of smaller retail shops closing down that was for me the personal favourite as it was honest and beautifully simple.
These films showed the raw individual talent Brighton has as well as insightful minds.
