Brighton MP calls for better bus service for constituents

Brighton Kemptown MP Simon Kirby has urged Brighton and Hove Buses to improve the service on one of the routes in his constituency.

Mr Kirby called on the company to improve the frequency and regularity of the number 12 bus which serves the Telscombe Cliffs and Peacehaven areas.

The Conservative MP said that constituents had raised concerns about the existing service, reporting that buses often came together after a gap of up to 30 minutes between services.

Mr Kirby said: “Residents regularly tell me that more 12X and 13X buses would be welcome, especially at busy times when people are trying to get to work or make their way to Brighton Station.

“Furthermore, there can be periods of the day when the service frequency seems to extend well beyond the 10 minutes or so that is advertised.

“I have written to the Brighton and Hove Bus Company to raise these points and to urge the company to improve the service for residents of Kemp Town, Telscombe and Peacehaven who use these routes by increasing the number of buses on the routes and I will keep constituents updated on my efforts.”
