Comic Boom

Comic Boom is a delight of a comedy night all year round, but the December show is the jewel in its crown. With a back-to-school buzz post Christmas and pre-NYE, there’s an untainted happiness that’s palpable and unique to this combination of Boom and the time of year. Of course, a cracking line-up formed no small part of this, with the always bankable Romesh Ranganathan making a one-off return from his busy TV work to compere proceedings, upbeat and suprisingly affirmative laughter from highly enjoyable opener Mike Cox, top notch quirky and original humour from the strong comic voice of Andrea Hubert, and a boisterous and off-the-wall set from Steve Law amongst the support. Headline spot came from Zoe Lyons, who once again reminded us with her charming and askew perspectives that we take her too much for granted in this city – a real comedy gem we are lucky to see. All in all, it’d be wise to book next December’s tickets now.
