Brighton man charged with drink driving after crash

A 41-year-old man from Brighton has been charged with stealing a car and drink driving after a crash in Whitehawk.

Robin Neal, of Marine Gate, Brighton, has also been charged with assaulting a police officer.

Neal was arrested after a crash in Whitehawk Road, Brighton, which happened just before 8.30pm on Monday 9 December.

Sussex Police said that he had also been charged with driving without insurance.

He has been released on police bail and is due to appear at Brighton Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 30 January.

Neal is one of 32 people arrested for drink driving or related offences in Brighton and Hove during the annual Christmas and new year crackdown.

Sussex Police said that the countywide figure now stood at 123.
