The Grand Hotel wins three prestigious awards in 2013

The magnificent Grand Hotel situated on Brighton’s seafront is famous for offering its guests luxury at its finest and, as proof, the hotel kicks of 2014 with numerous brand new awards.

There is another reason the hotel is celebrating in 2014; it is also the Grand’s 150th anniversary.

At the Sussex Business Awards on 5th December 2013 at the Brighton Dome, the Grand won the Best Customer Service award and the Most Sustainable Business award, and was the only company to win in more than one category.

Alongside these two awards, the hotel has achieved Gold Standard by the Green Tourism Business Scheme, which is regarded as one of the world’s most credible tourism programmes.

2014 has kicked off to a great start for the hotel as well, where three members of the Grand’s staff recently won the accolades of Manager of the Year, Restaurant Manager of the Year and M&E Operations Manager of the Year at the De Vere annual awards, with stiff competition from 33 other UK properties across the De Vere Hotels and Village portfolio.

Andrew Mosley, General Manager at the Grand said: “We are delighted to have won these awards. 2013 has been an excellent year for the hotel with its refurbishment and additions of the Spa and GB1 restaurant, both of which have been received most favourably. It is tremendously exciting to achieve this recognition and I have every confidence that 2014 will be even more successful.”

Built in 1864, the hotel is a member of the De Vere Group, and last year underwent a multi-million pound refurbishment which included the opening of GB1, the superb new seafood restaurant, and their luxury Day Spa which opened its doors in May.

With its opulent and luxury accommodation, it sits proudly at the heart of this vibrant city within minutes of the Lanes, theatres, local attractions and Brighton’s shops and colourful parades.
