Thugs strike twice in Hangleton
Two thugs attacked a man and a woman in Hangleton in separate attacks just moments apart.
And in one of the attacks they snatched their victim’s handbag before running off.
Sussex Police said: “The first crime happened at around 5.45pm to 6pm on Friday (17 January) when an 18-year-old man was approached in Hangleton Way.
“The victim was walking in the lane that runs down to Sainsbury’s and under the road when two teenagers approached him, punched him in the head and escaped.
“In the second crime a woman walking in Hangleton Road had her handbag snatched by two men who then ran into Martin Road between 5.45pm and 6pm on Friday.”
The muggers were described as white and 16 to 18 years old.
One was 5ft 9in with fair hair. He was wearing a light-coloured hoody.
The second was about 5ft 5in with dark hair. He was wearing a dark blue hoody top.
Detective Constable Andrew Beaumont said: “These crimes happened close to each other and within a matter of minutes so I believe the same people are responsible.
