Local independent retailers had cause for celebration on the night of Tuesday 14 January at the Dressed for Success 2013 awards event.

Twenty-five Brighton & Hove shops received expert one-to-one tuition on how to make the most of their window displays in the run up to Christmas, and following a public competition which received over 2,000 votes, winners were announced across seven categories at the glitzy ceremony.

The overall Dressed for Success winner was MIY Workshop who picked up a prize of a year’s free partnership with VisitBrighton.

Other category winners included Kerrie Berrie Beads & Jewellery, The Specky Wren, Emma Plus, South Coast Costumes and Manor of Things.

Legal & General raise over £100,000 for the Martlets Hospice
Legal & General, together with the Martlets Hospice celebrated the success of their partnership at an event on 16th January 2014. Thanks to the hard work and commitment of the staff at Legal & General they have raised £104,936.47 for the Martlets Hospice.

Staff at the company held dress down days, joined sponsored events like the Martlets Midnight Walk and the Noon Walk, had office collecting boxes, ran a book exchange scheme and benefitted from Legal & General’s employee match-funding scheme. Staff have given hundreds of hours of volunteering time to the charity.

EuroMillions Memory Joggers Hit the Streets of Brighton & Hove
A team of ‘memory joggers’ took to the streets of Brighton and Hove on Thursday 16th January hoping to jog the memory of residents, one of whom could be the missing EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle winner from Friday 26 July.

With only days left to go before the £1million ticket expires, the runners from the University’s Parklife Running Club were hopeful that they could jog a few memories and unite the would-be millionaire with their fortune.

The winning ticket was bought in Brighton & Hove for the EuroMillions Millionaire Raffle draw on 26 July 2013 and the selection was BZP410507. Anyone who believes they have the winning ticket should call the National Lottery Line on 0845 910 0000.
