Up to the challenge

Brighton Accommodation Agency raises £23,000 for charity during their Year of Pain
Brighton Accommodation Agency has handed £23,000 to the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice after completing their Year of Pain in 2013. The challenge was to complete at least one endurance event a month using different teams comprising or tenants, landlords, staff and friends.

Owner Dan Lyons, sales manager Jay Melton-Ball, along with major contributors Hannah Lyons and Sophie Lynch, completed events throughout the year including the New York Marathon, Tough Guy, Spartan Beast and Nettle Warrior. The closing party was hosted at The Cricketers in Brighton, courtesy of manager Kauser Ali, and this alone added another £2.5k to the total raised for the hospice.

“It’s been an amazing year, and I’m still overwhelmed with the support and courage of both the participants and those who sponsored us,” says Dan Lyons. “It’s a fantastic achievement, and I can’t thank everyone enough. Special thanks has to go to Hannah, Jay and Sophie for going above and beyond the call of duty.

“We sincerely hope that this helps Chestnut Tree House and that we’ve gone some way to helping raise the profile of this amazing place.”
