Woman suffers serious head injuries in Brighton bus crash
A teenage pedestrian suffered serious head injuries when she was hit by a bus in Brighton this morning (Tuesday 28 January).
The accident happened shortly after 8.30am on the southbound side of the A270 Lewes Road, near the corner of Ringmer Road in Moulsecoomb.
The 18-year-old woman was treated at the scene before being flown to hospital with serious head injuries by the Kent, Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance.
Sussex Police asked for any witnesses to contact the force by emailing collision.appeal@sussex.pnn.police.uk.
Lewes Road was closed in both directions for almost two hours, with the southbound side reopening to traffic at about 11am.
Traffic was diverted along Ditchling Road which restricted the number 25 as the bendy buses were unable to use the alternative route.
