Laughtermarket
Laughtermarket herded up a fine selection of prime comedy beef for their annual celebration of all things funny. Perhaps unkind to the other comics, Brighton comedy queen Zoe Lyons went first, which is a little like Usain Bolt racing against a sloth with fractured ankles. Needless to say, she emphatically stole the show.
Not that there weren’t great moments to come. Musical comedian James McDonnell was equally unnerving and compulsive viewing as he fist pumped his way through side-splitting songs and moments of completely unhinged inhibitions. Replacement headliner Holly Walsh confounded her forgettable TV appearances with a hilariously cynical urbanite charm which was much more compelling than we were expecting. In all a top notch comedy night.
