Brighton children to ‘Decorate the City’
Brilliant Brighton has teamed up with Juice FM to launch a project inviting Brighton children to ‘Decorate the City’ for the summer.
The project will ask school pupils across the city to design their own banner around the theme of ‘Brighton is brilliant because…’.
Winning images will be displayed above Western Road and North Street from May 1st 2013 until the end of September.
The children will be free to design whatever they like, so long as it’s big, bold and shows the essence of this vibrant city by the sea.
Each entry must be A4 in size and the winning designs will be displayed for the summer months along Western Road and North Street, offering up a fabulous warm welcome to everyone that visits, lives or works in the city.
Gavin Stewart, Brilliant Brighton Manager, said: “This is the second year that we have run this competition and we are hoping to make it even bigger, bolder and better for 2014.
“This is a real chance for the city’s youth to see their designs displayed throughout the city centre for the summer months and be seen by millions.”
Entrants are asked to think about what makes this city great: Do you love the Lanes? What’s your favourite tourist attraction? Do you love the city for being environmentally friendly?
All entries should be sent to: Brilliant Brighton ‘Welcome to Brighton’ Competition, 8-11 Pavilion Buildings, Castle Square, Brighton, BN1 1EE or info@brightonbid.com.
The deadline for entries is Friday 4th April at 12 noon.
