Join the dark side at Heroes Run
It’s Team Heroes vs Team Villains at the 10th Brighton Heroes Run, in aid of Pass It On Africa
The Heroes Run is the brain child of Pass It On Africa co-founders James Macdonald and Matt Lambert. Working together in all manner of questionable costumes over the years, this annual fundraiser has grown into a race field of over 1,500 runners and has helped build three schools in Kenya, Ghana and The Gambia respectively.
Now, after 10 years of collaboration, a bitter feud has erupted between the two. It is as yet unclear as to the nature of their disagreement but some sources say that Matt could no longer stand being in James’s shadow.

One thing is clear, Matt has gone bad! He has discarded his sidekick persona and launched a rival Villains Run, challenging James to the ultimate showdown of good vs evil. So, on Sunday 18 May, you have to choose your side. Will you save the day and run as a hero or ruin the day by joining the Villains team? Hero or Villain, there is a 5km and a 10km race for adults as well as a youth mile and Kids 500m dash respectively.
On race day, the teams will line up against each other and go head to head in a straight race to the finish line. In both the 5km and the 10km race, the first team to reach 100 finishers will win the day. The teams are also going head to head in fund-raising for Pass It On Africa. Hero or Villain, one thing they agree on is the importance of their cause.
“This race is vital in raising funds to help build schools in Africa. Every child has a right to an education. You do not have to be a goody-two shoes hero to know this. Even Villains have a heart.” – Matt, Team Villain captain.
