Man treated in hospital for burns after fire in Portslade chip shop
A man was treated for burns in hospital after a fire broke out in a fish and chip shop in Portslade yesterday (Saturday 3 May).
He was taken to the Royal Sussex County Hospital in Brighton with burns to his forearms after firefighters and paramedics were called to the shop in Trafalgar Road, close to Southern Cross.
East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said that firefighters were called out to tackle the blaze at the Best Fish and Chip Shop shortly before 7.30pm.
The fire service said that the blaze had been put out by the time fire crews arrived.
Firefighters checked the building with a thermal imaging camera.
The cause of the fire was not known.
