Get On Your Bike

Figures from Sport England show that cycling has overtaken football as the third most popular participation sport in Britain, with more than two million adults riding regularly. Brighton and Hove is a particular hot spot, and to reflect its popularity the Martlets Hospice has two cycling events for supporters to get involved in, depending on what kind of cyclist you are! Whichever one you do you’ll be helping to raise vital funds for patient care.

Surrey 100: Sunday 10 August 2014
The ride starts in Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, and follows a 100-mile route on closed roads through the capital and into Surrey’s stunning countryside. With leg-testing climbs and a route made famous by the world’s best cyclists at the London 2012 Olympics, it’s a truly spectacular event for all involved. Registration is £40 and riders are asked to raise £750 in sponsorship.

Sussex Sportive: Sunday 31 August 2014
The Sussex Highs and Lows Sportive Sunday is a sponsored cycle sportive around the glorious Sussex countryside, starting and finishing at St Bedes School, Upper Dicker. Choose your route: either a 45, 56 or 68 mile course. Registration is just £20 and riders are asked to raise £100 in sponsorship.

So what are you waiting for? Get signed up and get out on your bike for some training!
