‘Search for a Star’
On Saturday 19 July 2014, The Martlets Shopping Centre in Burgess Hill will host their first ‘Search for a Star’ talent competition, and is reminding local performers and groups that entry closes on Monday 30 June.
The Martlets is interested in hearing from talented local performers from Sussex to compete for the honour of ‘Most Talented Act’, with the opportunity to win fantastic cash prizes of £350 for first place, £100 for second place and £50 for third place. From local musical groups, beatboxers, bands, choirs and singers to animal acts, dance troupes, magicians, impressionists, jugglers, theatre groups and comedians – anyone can enter, as long as their act is family-friendly and entertains the crowds!
Ian Goodridge, Centre Manager of The Martlets Shopping Centre, commented: “We’ve already had a lot of interest in our ‘Search for a Star’ talent competition but we are still encouraging local groups and individuals to come forward and enter, before the deadline closes on 30 June. We want to put on an amazing show to entertain our shoppers so we would like to hear from all sorts of diverse and extraordinary performers!”
Individuals and groups who are interested in participating are asked to email themartlets@pmwcom.co.uk to request an entry form by Monday 30 June. Artists are asked to include their name, email address, contact telephone number and details of their performance, including a video clip of their act if possible. There is no age limit for performers but children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult, and animal acts must be supervised at all times.
