Thug batters Brighton man with metal bar during break-in
A thug beat a man with a metal bar when they burgled a flat in Brighton, Sussex Police said today (Wednesday 16 July).
He was one of two men who broke into the flat in Eaton Place, Kemp Town, between 8am and 8.30am on Tuesday 8 July where a 48-year-old man was in bed.
He battered the victim, leaving him with two broken arms, a fractured skull and bruises to his arms and body.
Detective Constable Grant Hebblewhite said: “This would have been a busy time of morning with people travelling to work and school and we are appealing to anyone who saw two men in the area around 8am that morning.
“The suspects are described as two white men, both between 40 and 50.
“One had blond hair, had a large build and was wearing a yellow fluorescent jacket.
“The second man was smaller, slimmer with short shaven dark hair. It was the smaller man who used the iron bar on the victim.”
