Communal recycling sites installed across Brighton and Hove – but will they boost ailing rates?

Recycling rates in Brighton and Hove have declined by 5 percent in the last 5 years.

So in an effort to get people to think about where they put their waste, council leaders have now rolled out communal recycling across the city centre.

The scheme was introduced in November after a lengthy consultation process. It now covers an area from Central Hove to Kemp Town

But with figures for being green when it comes to waste down, do those collecting the rubbish see it as the solution?

Recycling has been somewhat of a red issue for the council in recent months and with more streets set to be introduced to communal waste they will no doubt be hoping the scheme gives them the green light.
