Barnstormers Comedy Club

Welcome to Shoreham’s University of Comedy. The evening is invigilated by our cantankerous compere Kevin Precious. Surely his job is to get the audience warmed up, not riled up? First up, the Freshman of the bunch Jason Patterson, whose observational gags sometimes failed to make the grade because he hasn’t quite learned how to sell a punchline. Next, we have Sophomore George Egg. His brilliantly inventive first ten minutes of mime left me helpless with laughter. And graduating top of the class is headliner Roger Monkhouse, a consummate professional who has learned everything there is to know about stand-up.
