Gruff Rhys

Few musicians can match the invention of Gruff Rhys, with his seemingly limitless imagination and desire to innovate and evolve whilst always remaining strangely familiar. This intimate show allowed him to demonstrate his powers exquisitely, telling the true story of an 18th century explorer who travelled from Wales to American in search of mythical Welsh Indians, the subject of his American Interior album (which has also spawned a film and a book). The powerpoint presentation/gig was heartwarming, engaging, hilarious and spellbinding in equal measure, and demonstrated exactly why Gruff is among the most underrated artists of his era.
