‘THE BRIGHTON SOUND’ – LIVE MUSIC SHOWCASE RAISING MONEY FOR SUSSEX CHILDREN’S CHARITY

On Saturday 4th October, four top Brighton bands will be performing on the big stage at The Old Market (TOM) in Hove and raising money for a local children’s charity

These bands have been chosen by the promoters to showcase the current ‘sound’ of Brighton and to bring the best of what the city offers together in one place for this special event.

Those performing will be:
Mad Badger, a full on rock covers band to open the night.
Dirty Weekend, a mixture of originals and covers with a Brighton theme.
Uncle Arthur, energetic and eclectic originals with a fantastic live show.
The Lanes finish the night with a powerhouse display of stunning raw energy.

As well as promising to be a great night, the event is raising money for the Brighton Whoopsadaisy children’s charity that supports children with cerebral palsy or other motor disorders.

The event is being organised by Brighton Sounds (part of Sea City Music) who saw that outstanding local bands weren’t getting the what they deserved in terms of the venues offered or being rewarded for their efforts and they wanted to redress the balance and give the power back to the artists and their fans.

Wama (Guitarist in Dirty Weekend) said “We are very honoured to be asked to play The Old Market.  It’s been an amazing journey doing the ‘Dirty Weekend in Brighton thing’ and the feedback we get never ceases to amaze me”

This will be the first of many regular nights which will continue to put local talent in front of big crowds so if you want to get involved and play at one of these events, get in touch with the promoters at brightonsounds.com

Next year they have ambitious plans already in the pipeline and have secured a number of headline bands they will be bringing to the area as well as expanding the promotion of the local scene and raising more money directly for local charities- for that reason they need good quality bands who are ready to play in front of crowds of ALL sizes.

Brighton Sounds Co founder David Croissant said “Our ethics are always about doing the right thing and being transparent at all times.”

“We truly believe that relationships are key and we want it to be both long standing and fruitful for all parties as well as having fun on the journey.”

Sue Woolford from Whoopsadaisy said “We’re thrilled that Phil is continuing his fantastic support for Whoopsadaisy through these music events. It will be great for our profile and for our fundraising, and will mean that more local children with cerebral palsy – and their families – will receive the support they need”

The doors open at 6:45pm on the 4th October and tickets are available from The Old Market box office on 01273 201 801 or from their website.
