Sara Pascoe Vs History

A scalpel-sharp surgical dissection of sexuality and human relationships lay at the heart of Sara Pascoe’s breathless, and breath-taking, performance. She’s absolutely incandescent live; fearlessly funny, intelligent and perceptive with an innate adorability that instantly endeared her to her audience, whose own intelligence was required to complete some of the jokes, ie, the Hitler/Eva Braun gag. Her occasional forgetfulness (she had to consult her notes) earned her extra laughs and applause and a collective ‘Ah’ of delight. I attended the gig alone and rather grumpy, but I left deliriously happy and energised by witnessing a truly brilliant comedian at the top of her game.
