Barr Brothers

With guitarist and vocalist Brad Barr squeezed in between Sarah Page’s full sized harp, tour guest Joe Grass’s pedal steel and a capacity crowd filling every inch of the venue, this was a very cosy affair. A return visit, but their first headline show featured reverb-drenched, laid back husky vocals, crooning wry lyrics backed by multi-talented multi-instrumentalists, throughout a 90 minute set of entrancing country blues. Brad’s drummer brother joining him and Joe on two round-the-mic harmonisers was a highlight and with the harp’s arpeggios embellishing each song this was an evening of pure class to melt even the coldest heart.
