Nursing Lives

Vamos Theatre produce full mask productions, much in-keeping with a tradition that goes back Millennia and across numerous cultures. As such there is no ‘dialogue’ and therefore as an audience member you are acutely aware of movement, sound effects and scenery. This was a delightful tale set in Thatcher’s Britain of the early 80’s and centres on Flo, a lady who is determined to have one last look at the hospital she trained at before it’s demolished. The story flits from the 80’s battle to memories of the 1940’s, some sentimental, some poignant, some agonisingly brutal. Touching and humorous in equal measure.
