Scott Capurro – Islamohomophobia

Not since Jerry Sadowitz have I seen an opening 10 minutes with such a formidable hit rate of taboo-busting jokes, punch after punch. Visceral, relentless, Capurro tackles every stereotype of faith, race and sexuality, and for fun is gifted with the “dirty sauna” boys in this Brighton front row. But banter and controversy aside, at the heart of the show is a stunning metaphor comparing his mother’s death to the silence of New York after the fall of the Twin Towers. Capurro is an exceptional stand-up with something to say, his truth as funny and offensive as the world.
