Lorraine & Alan

This beautifully staged and devised story of love, myth and sea mammals off the British coast was a real treat to behold. Like an elaborate clockwork, the finer details complimented the powering themes, the whirring of the set, soundtrack and folio so much more than the sum of their parts, working perfectly in sync, to deliver up an enchanting whole.

Alan’s character is painted deftly with bold yet precise strokes, instantly relatable and recognisable in his flawed self as a recent graduate in that netherworld between education and career. Lorraine is sweetly and powerfully ‘other’ as his match. Together their tale is magical, heart-warming and heart-breaking.
