Brendon Burns: Outside The Box 2

Part podcast, part obscure stand-up gig – Brendon Burns has embarked upon his second tour of playing “under the radar” gigs around the country, allowing him to attract those that have sought him out and the proven comedy connoisseurs. In theory. The problem with playing to an audience you’ve selected is that sometimes it’s not what you expect. Burns was full of thoughtful vitriol, prone to tangents, and always interesting – if a little confused by a perceived lack of response in the first half. Both his pre-prepared show and the interruptions (from Burns as much as anyone else) were testament to his constantly enquiring and stimulating mind, although the natural flow of the show suffered from tangents and confusions. Still, Burns on any day is always a treat.
