Eleanor Harris: An Eye On British Airways i360

Welcome on board

This week I am thrilled to announce that we will be partnering with British Airways, the nation’s favourite airline, as the headline sponsor for the i360, which from now on is to be known as British Airways i360. From 2016 our passengers will board the glass pod and take off to cruise up to 450 feet for an amazing flight. 26-11-15-Geoff-Raw
I am delighted to have such a prestigious British and global brand sponsoring our attraction, and such a major player in the tourism sector in the region; I cannot think of a better sponsorship fit.
British Airways has 40,000 flights to and from Gatwick every year (you can already see the tower on flights landing at Gatwick!) and it employs 2,500 people in Sussex with hundreds living here in Brighton and Hove.
By supporting the i360, British Airways will help put Brighton and Sussex on the international stage. Together, we can help promote even more tourism to the area. We share a similar market with British Airways at Gatwick in the South East and a comparable international reach. Brighton is already a major tourist destination, attracting over one million international visitors per year and we hope that this partnership will help cement the city’s position as a top international destination.
We share a proud history of engineering and design excellence. British Airways i360 is the world’s first vertical cable car, the world’s tallest moving observation tower and the world’s slimmest tall tower. British Airways has led the way in the airline sector with innovations such as supersonic travel and the world’s first fully flat bed in business class.
Sponsorship was always part of our business plan and I am pleased that we are delivering on the promises we made to the city.
We announced the partnership at a press event when journalists also saw the glass viewing pod under construction and inside the beach building for the first time.
Our web site has changed to www.britishairwaysi360.com and you can now talk to us @ba_i360 on Twitter/Instagram; our Facebook page will be renamed to British Airways i360.
