Comedy: Now you see it…

Seeing is overrated. Dark is the new light. Two shows in this Brighton Fringe that are seeing their tickets selling fast certainly support this unorthodox idea, as Republic plays host to entertainment that has the darkness centre stage.John-Robertson
Every Tuesday this month offers up the chance to go and see Comedy In The Dark at Republic on the seafront. Returning after a sell-out run across the UK and Europe, and with previous sans-light comics on the bill including Jon Richardson, Sarah Millican, Reginald D Hunter and Kevin Bridges, this treat for the four remaining senses ensures you pay attention.
As a one-off on Friday 13 May, Republic again plays host but this time to international YouTube sensation turned fringe favourite John Robertson’s The Dark Room. Billed as a live interactive video game, mixing improv comedy with retro gaming into deranged rock’n’roll game show, the audience will ‘wake up’ in a dark room in a game show involving an Old Testament God who loves grammar and hates you. Everyone must work together to try and find their way out, but it’s not the destination that’s important – it’s the five-star collecting journey.
Seeing. It’s overrated.
