Stage: Discover the magical world behind the curtain

The Theatre Royal Brighton’s hugely popular backstage tours take place every Saturday morning throughout summer. In addition to their Historical Tours, theyAttachment-1 have added a new interactive Family Friendly Tour, which invites you to explore front and backstage with a guide and their fantastic app, using iPads they lend you. This family-friendly interactive tour lets you see what happens backstage when a show is on, explore hidden parts of the building not open to the public, meet characters from the past and staff from the present and experience what it’s like to perform on stage in front of a packed audience!
With props, games, fun facts and plenty of photo opportunities, this is a great way to find out about more about Brighton’s most famous and fascinating theatre.
Family Friendly App Tour

10.15am (approx. 1 hour)

On the Historical Tour, you will be engulfed by the glamorous world of West End productions and stars of the stage. Creep behind the scenes of this theatrical treasure, steal a bow on stage like countless stars before you, sneak into the Queen’s seat in the Royal Box, tip toe into the infamous ‘gulp bar’ used by Laurence Olivier and explore the unusual backstage area constructed from fishermen’s cottages.
This beautiful grade II listed Theatre holds over 200 years of secrets and intriguing tales, so join us for a fascinating insight into its history, redevelopment and present day workings.
For participants who are not able to walk around the building the app enables a virtual tour taking in all locations.
