After their smash hit Olivier Award nominated musical Loserville, Busted’s James Bourne and award winning writer Elliot Davis team up with critically acclaimed Youth Music Theatre UK for a third time to present electrifying new show What I Go To School For – the Busted musical!

Featuring some of Busted’s biggest hits including Air Hostess, Crashed the Wedding and Year 3000 plus a host of brand new songs, What I Go To School For follows a group of teenagers living in a world that just doesn’t understand them. Desperate to escape their humdrum hometown, they soon discover the need to break the rules to find out who they really are.

The promise is to have you rocking in your seats and the production features 40 talented young performers and musicians are from all over the UK and Ireland. They are all aged from 11 to 21 and have been selected from YMT’s National Auditions Tour, where over 1,000 young people auditioned to join the YMT 2016 Company.

Musician and songwriter James Bourne has just finished one of the highest grossing tours of 2015 with McBusted (with members of McFly) playing to over 600,000 people on an arena tour of the UK and overseas. James has written seven number one hit songs, had numerous top three singles, and played to sold out arenas across the UK. He has won two Brit Awards and played two Royal Variety Performances. He has also written for numerous other artists including McFly, The Saturdays, Jonas Brothers and Pixie Lott.

Elliot Davis has written the script, music and lyrics for Loserville, which after a successful run at West Yorkshire Playhouse in June 2012 opened at The Garrick Theatre, in the West End from the 1st October 2012.

Youth Music Theatre UK is the leading music theatre company for young people aged 11-21. YMT is a national performing arts company that specialises in creating brand new music theatre. We work across the UK and Ireland with leading industry professionals to offer unique opportunities and high-quality training to young singers, actors, dancers and musicians as well as emerging artists and stage technicians. Each summer, YMT creates at least eight brand new musicals across the UK with over 300 young people drawn from a national auditions tour who form the YMT Company.
