Tracing our line through life

Emma Clear is an artist on a journey. And the Corridor Gallery in York Place is the perfect space for her exploration of sculpture, form, line and materials connected through threads, lines and shadows. She uses the title of her new show ‘Trace’ metaphorically – tracing a line as a way to describe a woman’s journey and emotional landscape – and also literally through powerful hand-drawn lines that create an installation charting ‘our line through life’.

Look out especially for the incorporation of delicate panels of fine crochet work made by her grandmother – illuminated to emphasise the form created by this painstaking work and backed by subtle shadow. Emma’s body cast series and wire-drawn female forms complete the sculptural components of this treat of a show.

Until 29 August.
