Project Brighton
Charity event at Grosvenor Casino
BC Beauty Training (BCBT) is hosting a big beauty charity event at The Grosvenor Casino, on Saturday, 1 October, starting at 10am. The two charities that are being sponsored are Chestnut Tree House and The Martlets Hospice. The reason these two charities have been chosen is because everyone has been affected by the loss of someone close to them, whether it is someone young or old. Both of these charities carry out marvellous work.
They both offer support for the whole family, including psychological and bereavement support, end of life and short break care and sibling support, assessment, advice and information for children and young adults with life-limiting or life-threatening conditions 24 hours per day. Specialist short breaks, emergency and end of life care is provided at both charities 24 hours per day, and support for the entire family following diagnosis, plus hospice at home and community care services for children and families in their own homes throughout East and West Sussex and South East Hampshire.
The reason we have chosen these two charities is because everyone has been affected by the loss of someone close to them
Bereavement support includes befriending, counselling and spiritual care. Support and advice on the transition from paediatric palliative care services to adult services is provided. They are both great charities and rely very much on donations and fundraising events.
On the day of the event, the casino will be giving away a free spin on the roulette wheel for everyone who attends, they can win up to £10, which they can either keep or donate it to the charities. There will also be a raffle with prizes donated by local businesses, with all proceeds going to the charities. Not only that, each therapist and stall holder has donated £20 for their table which will also go directly to the charities. The casino is kindly printing out 1,000 leaflets to be given out to raise awareness of the event.
The event is not only for the two charities, it is also for BCBT’s students to help them promote themselves and to hopefully gain clients. BCBT are also helping the Casino by introducing possible new members. The treatments the students will be performing are manicure, gel polish manicures, facials, tanning, lashes and brows, waxing, Swedish massage, Indian head massage and Reflexology. The student will have time slots where they can book clients in and carry out the treatment at a reduced cost.

There will also be stall holders there who will be selling beauty products, jewellery, handbags, and candles, to name but a few. Again these stall holders will be able to promote themselves and maybe able to sign up ongoing clients.
This will be a fantastic event and it will feel very rewarding when BCBT finally hand over the cheque to the two charities, knowing that we will be helping families during a time of great need.
