Love is in the air

Imagine popping the question to a backdrop of the sunset or stars 450 feet above Sussex! Since we opened in August, on average around one couple per week have been getting engaged! We are following in the footsteps of the London Eye where more than 6,000 happy couples have got engaged since it opened for the millennium!

Within 24 hours of opening, our first couple had got engaged and posted their happy pictures on Facebook, swiftly followed by two other couples during our opening weekend.

Our staff sometimes get involved in the proposals. On one occasion, our in-flight crew were asked to make an announcement on the microphone to say that someone had a very important question to ask. The whole pod watched as the man got down on one knee and popped the question to huge cheers from everyone watching when she said yes!

Last week, in a particularly inventive proposal, Ben Edwards spelt out “Abi Will you Marry Me” on the beach. Apparently, once the pod lifted off, a passenger saw the message and started talking about it and asking “where Abi was”.

For anyone wanting to propose in a more private way, the Eros flight package includes private hire of the glass pod and a glass of Nyetimber. Our events team will help plan any extra touches such as a personal playlist, photos on our pod screens, musicians or even a flash mob! And for a truly unique wedding venue, you can now get married in the glass pod!
