Comedy – Victoria Nangle: Midweek madness
The weekend starts here – throw conventional social timetabling out the window with some great comedy slap bang in the middle of your week.
Komedia has two fantastic offerings on Wednesday night. Zoe Lyons’ show will resonate with many Brightonians as the TV panel-show regular paints a picture of being an awkward gay kid with a different accent and a strong case of alopecia. From trying so hard to fit in, Lyons now happily celebrates being in a gang of one and not being shy about it.
Felicity Ward follows on from last year’s highly acclaimed show with this one, with a title prompted by a study revealing that people with anxiety and depression are 50 per cent more likely to die in any number of circumstances. Making serious thought very funny, and including a story about losing her laptop on a bus, this show has already garnered four- and five-star reviews.
A late notice addition, Michael McIntyre is playing over in Eastbourne on Thursday. The show’s already sold out, but if you can beg, borrow or steal a ticket it’ll be a treat.
