Doggy Tales: National Black Dog Day

Did you know that it was Black Dog Day, on October 1st? The day was established in order to highlight the plight of black dogs (and cats) in rescue centres, who are less likely to be re-homed than their multicoloured counterparts.

Many people choose not to adopt them for superstitious reasons surrounding their ‘unlucky’ colour. Raystede Animal Welfare Centre currently have three beautiful black dogs, who are in desperate need of forever homes, can you help?

murray

Murray:
My name is Murray and I am a handsome 16 month old male Lurcher. I have plenty of energy and also enjoy a fuss. I need commitment to training and could live with older children but not cats. I am generally social with most dogs, but do need some training. Please research my breed type.

Blue and Laddy:
We are two LARGE male, five year old labradors. I’m Laddie (left) and my best friend is Blue (right). He is slightly bigger than me. We are fun excitable and boisterous boys who need an experienced home, as we are very bright and eager to learn. Children need to be older and used to dogs. (Not cat tested.)
