Rehearsal for Murder
The crucial thing about a murder mystery is that it has to leave you speechless by the end and that is most certainly what Robert Preston’s ‘Rehearsal for Murder’ does. I’ve never managed to stay awake during old repeats of ‘Poirot’ or ‘Midsomer Murders’, probably because it’s always been quite predictable, however, the cunning way in which the ensemble cast, led by the wonderful Alex Ferns, manages to mislead you throughout is pure genius. The fact that it’s set in a West End theatre with flashbacks being used in order to explain the story makes it even more fascinating.
