Krater Comedy Club: Andrew Stanley, Mark Nelson, Joe Rowntree & Adam Bloom
Andrew Stanley was a quick and charismatic compère, dealt a gift from the comedy gods in the form of a Tinder couple on a first date. Mark Nelson exuded some natural comedy timing but sadly used it to convey hackneyed tales about how horrible marriage is. Women eh?! Joe Rowntree was the highlight: his eloquent and surreal flights of fancy were funny and original. Adam Bloom’s geeky agitated persona was also refreshing while some bitterness and glum anecdotes were striking. I am not the target market for the broad humour of crass gender politics often skirting too close to misogyny for my taste: all the comics dipped into that style to please the crowd, who enjoyed a varied night of comedy.
