Brighton public give their views on the Corbyn/May debate

Well it’s just over a week until the city goes to the polls for the general election. And last night saw the biggest night of debates so far as Prime Minister theresa May and Opposition Leader Jeremy Corbyn went head to head in debate, with Jeremy Paxman at the helm.
May was grilled on her Brexit strategy and running of the NHS, Whilst Corbyn was left to field questions about his stance on childcare and taxes.
However the perculiar thing about this debate is the fact that the candidates did not appear together in the same room, after May refused to take part in a head-to-head debate. Instead the two were shown on split screen fielding questions from both Paxman and the live audience.
With statistics seeming to show that the Conservatives have lost their seemingly unassailable lead over Labour in the polls it’s set to be a huge two weeks for both parties as they step up their campaigns in order to sway voters. And we took to the streets of Brighton to see if the public had made up their minds based on last nights debate.
